Hello Again

Hello Everyone!

It has been a really, really long time since my last post. I am incredibly sorry about giving up on my blog and want to thank all my followers and everyone who posted comments along the way. It was very sweet of you all and I really appreciated hearing from you and visiting your blogs in return.

The reason I stopped blogging was because I disliked the direction my blog was taking. I felt the need to post something all the time and didn't really put as much thought or effort into each post as I should have.

I have decided to start from scratch and have created a new blog called Little Miss Lady Birdy. I would love if you could stop by!

The Collections

I love Topshop’s latest collections – lots of pretty florals, gorgeous knitwear, lovely ankle boots and cute denim pieces.

These are my favourite outfits…

What are your thoughts on blue lipstick… Any takers?

Olsen Files

I am obsessed with reading at the moment. Perfect evenings and weekends are spent cuddled up with a book and a cup of tea. I just purchased ‘Influence’ by the Olsen Twins. I know it won’t be like reading a juicy novel, but I am really curious to see what this book is about and where the ever-stylish Olsen twins get their inspiration from.

Whilst on the subject of the Olsen twins, I have just discovered this great website called the Olsen files. It has the most amazing candid photos of the twins. I have spent hours trawling through the archives, worshipping their unique fashion sense and how their style has transformed over the years.

These are some of my favourite Mary Kate looks (sorry Ashley fans but MK is my favourite twin, I am obsessed with her style).

Some fabulous casual looks… MK knows that coffee on-the-go is the perfect accessory.

Dressed up and channelling her inner-bohemian babe (which she has perfected).

Sisterly love...

She even looks awesome after yoga class or riding a bike around the city.

The Surgery Addict

Everyone has TV shows which are guilty pleasures. At the moment, mine are 90210 (the new one – oh the shame) and the Hills. I am totally addicted to both and I know that I am probably getting dumber the more I watch them. The acting is bad, the story lines are totally lame and I don’t really think they have anything positive to offer their viewers but somehow I am still hooked.

When first glancing at the cover of People magazine, I was taken aback by the blonde bimbo on the cover. When looking closer, I realised that it was Heidi Montag from the Hills. In the first season of the Hills I adored Heidi; in fact she was my favourite character. She was sassy, cool and also incredibly beautiful (she has the most amazing Bambi eyes).

As the seasons progress, she becomes more irritating, her hair becomes more platinum, her boobs become bigger and her face just becomes stranger looking.

In People, Heidi has confessed that she is addicted to Plastic Surgery. In November, Heidi had 10 cosmetic procedures in one day - a nose job revision, chin reduction, mini brow lift, botox in forehead and frown area, fat injections in cheeks, nasolabial folds and lips, neck liposuction, ears pinned back, liposuction on waist, hips and inner and outer thighs, buttock augmentation and breast augmentation revision. I am asking myself why? She used to be an incredibly gorgeous young girl.

Little Miss Lazy

I am so sorry that it has taken me a good three weeks to make a blog entry. Two things have kept me from blogging recently. I am freezing cold and miserable and I am not too sure whether you want to hear my grumpy rants on why winter is horrible and needs to sod off. I also look like a mess (I have forgotten how to co-ordinate my clothing at the moment) and to be honest I have been too embarrassed to make any outfit posts. I look like a crazy bag lady and nobody wants to see that (not even me).

My other reason for not blogging (no the dog didn’t eat my laptop) is that I have a new job! Yipppeeee! I start in two weeks time and this has pretty much been occupying my brain waves at the moment. There was this huge process applying for the job, and then interviewing for the job and then leaving my current job but it is all in the bag now. Wish me luck!

So my first post for 2010 is going to be about these awesome necklaces by Gonzalo Cutrina. They are so colourful, bold and playful; I am sure they would liven up any outfit. I like the American elk one the best… It is officially on my wish list!

Merry Christmas to All!

Christmas is now well and truly in sight and I am as excited as, well, a child before Christmas. My lovely parents sent me some Xmas money (thanks mum & dad) so at the weekend I went shopping at Topshop to buy some pre-Christmas treats.

I have been after a denim shirt since the summer time however everyone I tried on seemed to swamp me. Brain was functioning at the weekend and I found a lovely light denim shirt in the petite section. Hurrah!

Since it has been insanely cold lately I bought yet another big chunky cardigan - this time in black. It is so warm and toasty.

Cup of tea time! Mmmm Earl Grey..

Once more - I am sorry that these photos are so orange! It is the odd lighting in my flat mixed with winter darkness outside.

I have also been meaning to post a picture of this lovely top knot headband I bought from Etsy (by foliage). I love top knots – they have a great rockabilly look to them. I have been wearing it quite a bit lately and I am considering purchasing a floral one soon.

This might be my last blog post for the New Year, so I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year

Material Girl

I really love Dolce and Gabbana’s new campaign featuring Madonna. She looks really womanly and healthy (has the scary muscular yoga Madonna withdrawn?) and I also think it echoes the ambience of classic Italian cinema.

Shot by Steven Klein, the photos show Madge as a sensual Italian housewife wearing floral skirts, crochet tops, dresses and leopard print. I am trying to ignore the fact that Madonna is chomping down on some spag bol in one of the pictures – I wonder if it is macrobiotic pasta?
