Kids... Don't they grow up quickly?

Suri Cruise is a pretty darn adorable but this photo is just plain disturbing. The three year old was photographed wearing sparkly high heels whilst wandering around town with her mum (not digging the sparkly heels out of mummy’s closet and playing dress up, she is actually wearing a pair of tiny sparkly heels out and about). Some of my 25 year old friends cannot even walk in high heels. That is so warped!

What is even stranger is that she is also drinking something from a Starbucks coffee cup (I hope it is a hot chocolate). My mouth is hanging open. Can children just be children? This photo is just so bizarre. She looks like a miniature sized adult. Like a Shetland pony or something. Yikes!

Winter Wish List

The winter chill is upon us. I had hoped to bulk up my winter wardrobe, but it is still looking as skeletal as ever (can one wear summer dresses with tights this winter? Me thinks no). This is my winter wish list…

Topshop shaggy goat hair jacket - OK I am feeling sorry for the goats but I really like this jacket. Sorry Wayne (my pet goat from when I was a child)...

Vivienne Westwood bag – hurrah for faux crocodile skin!

Auburn locks – I really want hair like Karen Elson. She is so totally gorgeous! Jack White – you are a lucky man.

Cath Kidston mittens – they are so cute and childlike. Make my cold hands happy? Yes please!

Topshop leopard print hat – definitely will keep my little ears warm and toasty on cold winter nights.
Big snugly coatigans – I really like the whole chunky cardigan doubling up as a coat look. I think it looks really elegant but also a bit bohemian at the same time. Definitely the look I am after (photo from Grazia)

Alexander Mcqueen boots – I think I am in serious love with these boots.

Topshop fluffy gloves – I tried these on the other day and they were so awesome. I felt like I had stuffed animals for hands. The only problem will be gripping things…

A fold away bike – yeah OK that seems more like a summer purchase but I love these bikes. It looks like people are riding this strange contraptions which is half bike / half scooter. They are so cute! Also this dude looks so cool posing with his (photo from jak & jil).

Queen of Diamonds

A few weeks ago I got some new Doc Boots for winter. In winter I trudge around in flat shoes most of the time so Doc Boots are pretty perfect. They are warm, flat, comfortable and they look really cool. Mine are patent black leather so they are really shiny and I feel like I am 13 again.

Jean Paul Gaultier is keen on Dr. Martens at the moment too. He has given the classic boot a makeover by perforating them with diamond shapes. I think they are really cool. Can I girl own two pairs of Doc Boots? I think so!

Funny Bones

Last week was a great week for post (lots of amazing treats arrived in the letterbox). Firstly a lovely gift arrived from my mum (thanks mum!). She bought me a Karen Walker necklace. It is a pale blue skull on a white rope. I am so excited about it. I feel like a voodoo witch doctor when I wear it.

My giraffe print shoes arrived on Friday. I purchased them in the Urban Outfitters sale (why are their sales so good?) They are really comfortable and I think they make a nice alternative to the black or brown brogues which everyone seems to wear in the wintertime (not that I am dissing black or brown brogues – I think they look awesome!)

I teamed both of my new treats together for a party on Saturday night. New goodies certainly make this girl feel great!

Punky Brewster

Studded clothing and accessories are popping up all over the place this autumn. Studs transform me into a fierce punk babe. They also make me feel like I am wearing the night sky. It is such a dreamy feeling.

When I saw these black studded heels I knew we were destined to be together this autumn / winter. They look incredible with black skinny jeans or a black mini skirt with thick black tights. Dear I say it – but bring on the cold weather?

Art Nouveau

I have been writing quite a bit on shoes lately. I promise that there are other thoughts flitting through my brain but in the mean time I really needed to express my love for Kerrie Luft's new collection of shoes called 'Nouveau'.

Maybe it is the art historian in me (mixed with the shoe-a-holic), but how great would it be shimmy-ing along the footpath in these Art Nouveau inspired babies? The shoes in 'Nouveau' are as ornamental and striking looking as Victor Horta's hotel in Brussels.

They are so sophsticated, decorative and elegant! Truly amazing.

There was an Old Lady who lived in a shoe…

My favourite nursery rhyme as a child began ‘there was an old lady who lived in a shoe’. That was pretty funny when I was younger, but as I become a shoe addicted adult I realise there is a hidden message in that nursery rhyme. Emma – if you don’t watch out, your obsession with shoes will turn you into an old lady who will be forced to live in her shoes. I seem to be totally obsessed with shoes at the moment and it is going to do some serious damage to my bank balance.

At the top of my shoe wish list are these amazing Emma Cook shoes. I spent 20 minutes just waltzing around the Topshop shoe department in them and fell head over heels in love. They are so comfortable and look so wicked on. I cannot decide if I prefer them in black or Zebra print… Can I have both?

The second pair of shoes I am lusting after are these gorgeous Kurt Geiger leopard print boots. I think they look a little like Christian Louboutin’s leopard shoe boot (although at a much friendlier price). I love the tassel detail on the zip. Are they the perfect autumn boot or what?

I am also digging Kron by KronKron shoes at the moment. They are so colourful and candy-like. I just cannot pick which pair I love the most. The red ones? The black ones with the baby pink detailing? All of them?
